Adult literacy in South East Asia is often below 10%. More than half of all children lack the funds to enroll in school.

Badjao Bridge is working to provide access to school and essential care for 500 children. Attending school builds educational and career opportunities and protects children from the need to beg in the streets for daily food. 

Miracles

When we first started working with the Badjao, children were dying from preventable deaths every year. The children needed access to nutritious meals, hygiene education, and school. Badjao Bridge is working hard to provide these essentials for every child that needs them.

Miraculously, there has not been one child death in the past five years, even during COVID. Through building healthy habits, minds, and bodies, we have seen Badjao children thrive!

The children are eager to learn and to grow. Best of all, they love to share what they learn with their families. Education, health and nutrition are paving the way for a healthy future for all.

Badjao children get a daily nutritious snack and lunch at school and learn how to take care of their health.

Skills

The children love to learn! In school, Badjao children are learning many subjects such as math, reading, writing, science, nutrition, computer literacy, hygiene, growing food, and the creative arts. Many of our scholars go on to higher education and career training that formerly would have been out of reach.
